Default Last Resort: What is Wrong With My GSR?

I've had the car for about two months. When I first bought it, it refused to start up the first time, it would start up and then die and then go on right away at the second try. It worsened, then sometimes when I would press on the gas while driving it wouldn't give me any power, gas, spark whatever it is and I wouldn't go anywhere, about a second later it would throw me forward in my seat as I finally got a spark or whatever it might be. It would do this 3-4 times in a row. It finally got so bad that I stalled going 50 MPH and wouldn't start back up. Took it to my mechanic, and he put in a new rotor. Problem went wrong and two weeks later I was back in the shop. This time he put in a new rotor and dizzy cap. Guess what? Went bad again in another two weeks so I decided to go to Honda because they assured me that they would know what's wrong with it.

I take it to Honda and they look at it for THREE HOURS, and they can not find a thing wrong. They tried everything and then they finally looked at my plugs and realized that my plugs were very worn down and non-platinum. So they threw in some new plugs.

SUPRISE! Three weeks later it does the previous thing it did, where I'd press in the gas and not go anywhere. I'm debating on selling this thing because not one shop knows what's wrong with it. Does anyone have an idea?

Couple of things u wanna look at.. Your plug wires.. should be at least 7.5mm i'd run 8.5 or 8.0 but 7.5 will do, Secondly take a look at your timing buddy.. make sure the cams are lined up correct in the "up" position take a wrench and bring it to TDC and line it up thirdly check your igitior and coil.. Its one of those things i promise i had the same problem but it was my coil and what not but if ur timing is off man, your car could be in some serious trouble.. hope that works.

are you obd2? Using the ecu that came with the engine? Throwing any cel error codes? take the valve cover off, set the crank to the white line to the line that is angled on the timing belt cover and make sure the cam gears line up with the marks on the gears(checking that your not a tooth off). Also if you have a timing light, connect it up to plug #1, by the crank and see if it hits the white line on the crank to the line on the lower timing belt cover.

The idiot guy who swapped the motor put in a mugen ecu. And no, it isn't throwing any codes.

I am not sure what is done to a mugen ecu. Not sure if it will still throw a code like a normal ecu. Well check the timing and see if that is the problem, otherwise I have a feeling it is electrical(being tps/coil,etc), or lack of fuel pressure.

I remember your running rich thread, you're still using that ECU. It's not the cars fault for running improperly. The person who setup that swap should be hung by his balls.

Has anyone checked the ignition coil to see if that was in spec?
