Transmission shaft diameters

The transmission shaft diameters were increased in 1994? Did the shaft increase with the use of hydro transmissions? I have an "S1" transmission from a 1990 LS = 5 spd manual/cable. Is the tranny shaft diameter equal to the tranny shafts from a b16a1 from the same years? Are the synchro rings, springs, and synchro hubs and collars interchangeable?
OK, I'll come clean. I chipped my "S1" 5th gear synchro hub. Only one synchro ring stopper remains uncompromised. I wish I didn't have to call myself names - it really hurts. HaHA!!!
So a fellow boarder has a b16a1 mainshaft/ countershaft available. Since I can't buy a lonely synchro "hub" I was wondering if the "S1" LS and B16a1 shafts were compatible. And, if so does that mean the individual parts are interchangeable? thanks to all. robert f thomas
