I need help 'cos I haven't had my UK 'ITR' for long, and the car had a new clutch put in before I bought it! I saw that there is a short tube coming out of the top of the clutch/gearbox housing, with nothing on it! Should there be a breather/dust cap/ dip stick or something to cover this pipe, cos it's marked as though there had been something over it before!

yes, there's a rubber dust cover over it. i know what u're talking about, because mine was missing too.

 

that gromet is supposed to be there
i think its like 25 bucks at the dealer, dust shield i think as well

Right, straight down the local 'Honda' dealership tommorrow I think! Thanks for the info' guys....(NO THANKS TO THE DOPEY HONDA MECHANIC THAT LEFT IT OFF!!!!!) He probably found it on his toolbox afterwards and chucked it in the bin!

 

Cerritos Acura had no idea what I was talking about, even after pointing down inside the enigne bay. The service guy told me he didn't know what I was talking about, and he was going to look at another integra to find out...but there weren't any other manual transmission integra's there to look at.

A few odd months later, there was a manual transmission integra there, and there it was, the rubber dust cover...*sigh* it'd be nice to have service people who are as passionate about the cars they sell/work on, as they are to get their pay check.

It's all good though, I hate where I work, and I feel underpaid for the bull shit I put up with too. =P
