Default Peeling Paint

I have a '94 4-door teg. I'm wanting to sell it for something faster and for a manual but the roof is looking bad. The clear coat is flaking off towards the rear and looking absolutly horrific. I went to Maccos and they want $250 to sand it, acid wash it and paint it. Any tips on what I could do to get it looking better so I can get more out of it? I can provide pics if anyone needs them. Thank you.

try getting all of the flakes off so that you cant peel it off anymore. then take clear fingernail polish and put on there. that will more than likely work.

I tried getting some clear coat and putting that on but the paint is messed up underneith too. I was thinking of just dishing out the 100 for Macos to strip it then paint it myself.

You don't have to get it stripped off. Take some 320 grit sand paper, dry, and sand it around the edges of where the paint is peeling until there's no hard edge, just to where it sort of feathers out. The sand the rest of what you plan on painting, mask off, and paint. I don't know why you'd pay to have it stripped then paint it yourself? But since you're planning on selling it, it doesn't matter where you take it, just makes more sense to do all the work yourself and save the money.

Ok. So I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it. After I sand the roof do I need to put on primer? I don't think I do but I want to make sure. Also does anyone have a quart or perferably a pint of G-71P Integra paint? (Its green) PM me or let me know in here.
Btw I'm planning on using the stage-1 paint, where you don't need the clear coat. I might not if I can find the other kind.

May be a stupid question but... is it possible to remove the paint on the car, a car that has been repainted, can you remove that paint?

it doesn't matter who paints the car, there's always going to be orange peel. The only way to paint a car and not get orange peel is if the painter slicks out the clear OR if they sand and buff it after it's been painted. And no, you don't have to primer it unless you do body work to it first.

if the paint is metallic or pearl theres no chance ur gona get it even close. maaco isnt gona get it close. just chip off the flaking clear, use 3k paper, compound, high gloss wax, hope for the best. its not worth your time to get it painted if ur tryin to sell it
