Too much, in my opinion.

If you want better performance, sell the auto LS and buy something else... like a manual GSR.

I know I didn't exactly answer your question, but it's way too much work/cost to justify doing it.

Before I bought my teg I was looking at a 99 eclipse GST...it was automatic and I didn't want that so I looked into it and for a shop with a decent rep it was going to cost about $1000-$1500 ...too much IMO. I just waited around til I found a manual car I liked. You can do it yourself but its a ton of work and will still cost around $1000 I believe.

1,000 to 1,500 isn't bad at all for all the work that is required. Good thing is that since you are getting it all replaced and installed you can buy a high quality clutch, flywheel, etc, but it's going to jack up the price alittle.

Actually, changing from an Auto to Manual ruins the resale value. It's economically more sound to sell your car and to buy a new manual one.

It doesn't look like his car has much or any resale value as it is.
