Improving gas miles...

As you all know, gas prices are shooting through the sky right now...what are some ways I can improve on my gas milage?

last year, i got around 270 miles on about 9-10gallons of gas, this year i'm down to 240 miles on the tank. What is going on? what would i need to replace to possibly help me improve my gas miles?

i have no mods on the engine at all and i shift between 2.5-3k rpm. my hwy and city driving is 50/50.

can anyone help out a car noob?

Thanks a lot
Tommy

i've been experimenting with valero gas lately and it seems to give me better gas mileage than chevron - roughly 6 mi/gal better. i dont race my car so i dunno if performance is affected at all - at least i dont notice any difference on normal driving. my commute is 90% hiway, btw.

Change spark plugs, check spark plug wires, check distributor cap and rotor, change filter, change pcv valve, change your oil, change the filter oil, change the fuel filter, check your tire pressure, check all your fluids, adjust your valve, clean your injectors, and roll up your windows when you drive for aero dynamics
I did some of these things and now i get 25 city and 30 freeway. NO LIE. 270-310 mpg depends on my driving habits. good luck =) oh yeah my only mod is a cai.
