cheap hid's

what brand would you guys recommand for cheap look-a-like hid's....i just need something to look decent for now.....thanks...

The only product I'd recommend are the Sylvania "SilverStar" bulbs.
The cheapo "blue bulbs" use tinted glass that reduces light output and attracts unwanted attention from law enforcement. Be warned.

From what I've heard, SilverStar bulbs tend to have a shorter lifespan than conventional halogen bulbs. Looking at long-term costs, IMO it's better to save up for an upgrade to actual HID bulbs and ballasts. I think Phillips and McCullough have kits that are priced around $500.

Either get real HIDs or get some silverstars or xtravision bulbs for the best light without the hid conversion. I have xtravision on my car right now because I had the blue bulbs and I couldn't see at night, so I bought a pair for $17 at walmart and now I can see really well.

whats wrong xenon? you get like 3 different choices for colors and it runs 200-250 shipped, is that not cheap?

I have had Silverstars and PIAA bulbs in my car and the PIAAs were better IMO because they lasted 4 times as long at about double the cost.

Then I went with a Phillip's HID kit and it was worth every penny.

I said it once and ill say it again...SILVERSTARS are a JOKE!!!

You spend a grip of $$$$ on bulbs and from what they say, they have a nice pure white color to them...BS!!!!! they are still yellow. Sure they are not as yellow, but for $25-$30 bux a bulb I sure as hell want them to look different then regular Halogen bulbs.

How much $$$ & what wattage does the PIIA give out in 9005?
