Default Exhaust manifold busy-ness

i was lookin at the exhaust system.. an i realized it makes no sense to even have a header on it.. the little exhaust molicules prolly dont like bein shuved into one small tube so you think i should just take it off? maybe grind it off? makes sense... who needs the pipes anyway besides im sure my car will sound like a formula car.. and i wont even have to buy a coffee can!

Running without a header would actually decrease performance, as I understand it. The gases exit in pulses, and headers actually help control the exit of gasses, helping the exhaust accelerate out of the cylinders...

Keep your header on, and just get a smarter design of header if you want an upgrade.

Where do you get your information from? You obviously haven't heard of Hytech and SMSP exhaust manifolds. They make real good power. If this was the case then explain to me why these headers make decent power on the dyno with a full exhaust system.

Whoa settle down! I would have quoted you if it was directed towards you. Your response to this thread was correct and well thought out.

Having a header made by Velveeta would be better than running header-less. It will be way loud, you'll lose power, and dirty up your engine bay with unburnt hydrocarbons.

Have fun sucking a valve and saying goodbye to your motor.
