Default Skunk2 Cams

I am looking at getting Stage 2 Skunk2 Cams but it says I have to upgrade the valvetrain....what is this exactly consisting of....valves, springs & retainers. I am getting JE Pistons, and Eagle Rods also, but really didnt have the extra $ for the valve stuff. Let me know what I need or should do. I know I need to do it, but any opinions.

If your going to step up to Stage two cams, you should replace the valve springs and retainers for sure!! Your Valves should be ok. Are you buliding an NA motor or a Turbo motor?

Upgraded valvetrain usually means retainers/springs.

Are you set on Skunk2? There are alot of other great options out there like Rocket Motorsports and Buddy Club.

I'd decide on your goal first.. ie how much power do you want to make, you may be able to go w/a stage 1 cam and avoid upgrading valvetrain and still achieve the numbers you want.

We carry the Rocket Motosports products so if you have any ?'s you can drop me an email @ info@functionmotoring.com We also offer cam+valvetrain packages if you do want to step up to a "stage 2" cam.

You can check the RM cam specs here

RM camshaft specs

The RM homepage is here
