Distributor Cap for teggie
 

Hi there!
anyone here know how long should the distributor cap be replaced? is there any symptoms of worn & wear.

35k miles. Burnt and corroded terminals inside the cap warrant replacement.

A very interesting question.... I did not find any maintenance info on cap/rotor in the service manual.

Looking at the Helms manual, it says "check the distributor cap for cracks, wear, and damage. If necessary, clean or replace it."

76k miles on original cap/rotor; still getting 28-30mpg, no engine problems. I am doing timing belt replacement in a couple weeks, and have purchased new cap/rotor.

Its me again, I just had the car abt 2 months ago. i am slowly adding stuff to it.
these are the things that i have installed:
- high performance iradium spark plugs.
- Air Intake
- Exhaust.

What are the options to power it up beside adding a turbo.
any suggestion will be greatly appriciated. :confused:

*** I live in Australia, my car is a 95 GSI model, i am not sure what is it equivalent to the US model... does any one knows?

Also what engine does car have? i want to drag my friend's 96' celica, should i be able to beat him with what i've got? or i have to some upgrades?

Look on the engine block, next to the exhaust manifold, right alongside the transmission. Engine block serial number stamping is 2 lines. The top line is the engine type, like B18B1 or B18C or something like that...
