Diagnose My Engine numero 2

My engine was buring oil in the past week, so I compression tested it.
1- 210
2-110
3-90
4-210
So after much consideration I decided it was the rings. I took off my head today and everything looked fine.Heres some pics, the pics with the valves are the #2,3 cylinders.

Here's the 2,3 pistons and walls. Think i'm gonna need to hone them out??

rings gone bye bye. you got oil on top o em er pistons pal. replace em rangs and see how she test out compression wise. seriously though, replace the rings. might as well do compression rings while your at it. compression and oil rings then see how it does. if it still leaks then you can go from there. try the cheapest solution first.

How do your valve seals look?

How would I check the seals, aren't they pretty much hidden.

Well since you're already in there, replace your rings and bearings...see if that helps. If it doesn't, get new valve seals.

With compression numbers that low, I was told it had to be the rings. Besides the motor has 30k miles on it, I wouldn't think it was valve seals. But yes expect a post tomorow helping me installing my new rings.

What about new bearings????? Do I need them or can I use my old ones. And one more thing, I was told I would need to re-hone the walls?? They don't look that scratched up, can't I just take a scotchbrite and clean them???

just do the rings first and see if that doesnt fix it.

With a leakdown test before you pull the head. :oh:

I dunno, given that it's two adjacent cylinders it's more likely to be the headgasket. How did the gasket look when you took it off?

It looked fine. I just checked it, my HELMs says replace it. The engine only had 30k miles on it, can I reuse my old one.
