Default radiator

ok so i took my car in yesterday because it was overheating while idling. of course i was super low on coolant. they filled it up for free and told me i needed the radiator replaced.

they want about $350. i'm a poor college student.
how hard is to replace a radiator? what tools would i need? i'm reasonable smart so i'm sure if i had instructions or something i could figure it out...

also how does this radiator look for the price? it's only about 110. autozone and napa wanted about 200 for a new radiator.

any suggestions because the coolant is pretty much empty again today. can i even drive around town a little or is that to bad on the engine?
thanks again!

p.s.

it's a 1995 Acura Integra SE 1.8lt, mt

Radiator is easy as pie to swap. Drain the coolant out of it, detatch the coolant hoses, pop off the electrical harnesses, remove 2 10mm bolts on top, pull radiator out, swap fans onto new radiator....reverse process and bleed cooling system.

believe it or not dbster99's process is the detailed description of the job - there's not much to it as long as you know how to bleed the system. That part is easy too if you know where the bleed bolt is.

I used LT6916's link and did mine in May. It was pretty easy. Good luck!

Very easy. And I would advise just buying a used low mileage OEM radiator, rather than paying $150+ from autozone or $300+ from the dealer. Used radiators go for like $50-$100 max and are great.

for about 130-180. you can get an all aluminum radiator.
go to any radiator shop. they can get you one for a good price.

I got mines a couple years ago. and it still looking new. no leaks. Doesnt cool the car as much as the (showa) radiator though. (showa the one with the tan top plastic piece). they are the best radiator.

better then the (denzo) black platic top piece.

The showa radiator is about twice and thick as the denzo. (these are stock radiators).
