Default Hesitation under load

Our 95 Integra is hesitating, with pretty significant "jerks", under heavy load. I can accelerate to redline in the lower gears on flat terrain. Going up a steep hill and using anything more than normal gas pedal position causes some serious intermittant bucking. I thought it was the fuel filter so I replaced it and the air filter. It still does it. The hesitation is so sharp that it feels ignition related. It only seems to do it in the higher gears, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Any ideas on what it could be? Weak fuel pump? Coil? Something related to gear position and throttle position? Flux Capacitor? (anyone remember what this last one is from?)

Distributor? Is that a guess or are you basing your response on something?

Maybe he's guessing where the flux capacitors are located?

Sharp misfiring does sound like ignition. How old are your spark plugs? Take 'em out to check their condition even if they're not too old. How about plug wires, cap & rotor? Try looking for arcing in the dark.

New plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor along with a new timing belt about 40000 miles ago. I am leaning towards all new components again. Cheap insurance for around $100.

Start with the plugs and work your way out. The timing belt would be my last resort.
