i just got my headers welded because there was a crack and the next day when i was driving the check engine light came on. the water and oil levels were fine......any ideas?

 

Where was the crack and weld? Maybe when they welded the header they damaged the 02 sensor. Check the code to see what it is.

 

You could try to reset your ECU by pulling the fuses in the attached picture. If you have your stock radio make sure you have the code for it before you attempt this. You will have to reset all your settings for the radio. If this doesn't work you could jump the ECU and retrieve the check engine light code, so you know the exact problem.

i would imagine it is O2 sensor related. very coincidental, eh?

 

thanx for the help. i'm going to take it back to where i got it fixed tomorrow and talk to them. and to answer the question, the crack was where the two pipes go together (?) (btw, i'm a girl with limited knowledge of cars). the light came on the day after i got it fixed so i'm guessing it has to be the o2 sensor.
