The resurrection of Ruby, the story of the engine that would not stop.
 

Ok guys. I bought this car at 190k in 2008 with the intention of keeping it forever. So I treated it like gold. Well around 237k Ruby had an unfortunate accident but believe it or not drove herself home that night. That engine, is coming with me. Well after loading up the engine in a minivan, I found Ruby a new home in a 2 door with around 187k. After replacing the pedals, and tearing out the shifter, I had successfully converted an automatic transmission into a manual. After years of body work here and there, I had a misfire that I thought was catastrophic. Turned out to be the distributor. The screw had fallen out of the rotor!! Of course I feared for the worst and replaced the head gasket, timing belt tensioner and oil and temp sensors. I was looking for a bent valve, but there was nothing wrong with the engine. This was the summer of 2013. I drove my 91 integra happily every day until Nov 2013 when a minivan ran a stop sign while I was doing about 40 mph. The body had 227k. At that time the engine and transmission had an estimated 270-275k on it. So now, September 2015, Ruby 3 begins her journey. I'm putting the engine into again, an automatic body. This time a 92, so the check engine light is likely going to be on all the time lol. This body has 210k on it right now and is OBD1 rather than OBD0. I've switched out the fuel injectors, (92 high impedance, 91 low impedance) need to change out the thermostat housing (92 has temp sensor at housing, 91 didn't) and swapped the dizzy (plugs are different, so im using the 92 wiring harness on the 91 engine with the 92 dizzy). Wow old thread! 2019, and this engine is still running,near at or beyond 300,000 miles now!
