help with lugnuts..
hey everyone... i just noticed that on my car the previous owner had them wheel lock things on the lug nuts...i called him but he said he lost the key.... is there anyway i can get em off??? like do they say a universial key for the lugnut or am i gonna have to think of some way to take it off???? thanks
I got mine removed by my regular mechanic, as far as I know he had an air ratchet fitting that he used a hammer to drive on to the locking lug and then it just came right off...hope that helps...
sorry for the revival, but on the McGard website it says that you need to see the dealer if you still have the OEM wheels on your car (which I do) is this right? The only wheel locks that will fit are the ones you have to buy from the acura dealer? doesn't seem right. Anyone know anymore about this??

Any wheel lock that properly seats against the rim will work.
[For an Integra, that means a locking nut with the correct "conical" taper on the seating face of the nut. ]
And any tire & brake shop with the master key for the McGard locking nuts will be able to remove the OEM locking nut.
McGard is the OEM wheel lock supplier for Acura; they're concerned about someone trying to use a nut that doesn't fit correctly. And their concern helps drive traffic to the dealers. So from their perspective, both parties benefit.
