I just got a 94 GSR with 150k miles. The engine still sounds good, but I think it needs a new clutch (old, and I think I burned it a lot).

I haven't got around to driving it that much. What I'd like to know is how much life does this car have left? I think it was treated pretty well, but 150k miles is a lot.

Also, if the engine died, would I be able to put in a new engine to make the car "live" again? How much would it cost?

 

150k isnt a lot. i have 214k, i know there are a few guys here with more than i have...

take care of your motor, it is good for 300k+, beat it like many people do with gs-r's and if you dont wreck it sooner, it wont last past 175k.

do some regular tune up maint. like oil, cap rotor, plugs wires, fuel filter, air filter and if the timing belt and water pump havent been done (or you dont know when they were ) change them too. the car will last forever if you take care of it.

 

have someone do a compression and leakdown test. that will give you the full story on the engine.
