#120's Dyno...
Well after about 2 years now of many persons on this forum and myself wondering how much WHP my 98 Itr would lay down, I have dyno'ed the R.
98 Itr with 75k, stock motor. Mods are: -Comptech Icebox/K&N E2427/stock Upper Elbow -OEM JDM 4-1 -SMSP 12" Test Pipe -Buddy Club Spec 3 -Timing @ 17deg. This setup along with Drag Radials netted consistent 13.7's@100mph at the drag strip and a Very Strong motor on the Road Course. I dynoed the car at http://www.hpworks.com. The owner says there Dyno is calibrated on the lower side also, as many will agree. It was 82deg F out side with 68% humidity. http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/we...MXk1NDE%3D.jpg :D |
Where's the corrected chart? :D
|
That is one of the corrected charts. :driving:
|
That looks familiar.
I'm not surprised by the HP, but I'd have expected more of a VTEC spike. Wait. That sounds familiar, too. :P Oh, and if you people would give up and switch to AOL, you wouldn't have trouble with your FTP space going down or exceeding bandwidth restrictions. |
What is the deal with the vtec spike? Mine is SUPER violent.....

Here's an old map of my car 3 years ago tuning that crap out-a-there by lowering vtec & letting the air in!! http://www.itrca.com/gallery/budman/...oKC_R1_R6G.gif It's still a little spiked because the Field only lets you tune at 1000rpm increments. It looks a little smoother on the mustang dyno (although #'s will always report lower - the mustang dyno is where I tuned the fuel out.) http://www.itrca.com/gallery/budman/...DynoOM_R6G.gif http://www.itrca.com/gallery/budman/...ynoOM_R15G.gif Anyway that's my .02 :D |
maybe you also had more power because of advanced timing?

You can see the mods here. I haven't "redynoed" since I added the lighter flywheel. Total mileage = 113,000 & I haven't done any motor work yet :D To see mods just view my gallery page: www.itrca.com...budman |

We put my car on the dyno when it was equipped similarly to Smitdog's car. From the dyno chart, you can see why I expected a big VTEC spike. You sure Sakai hasn't been messing with your computer? LOL....
In this guise, the car would do 13.8 on Azenis, so your figures make perfect sense. http://members.aol.com/georgeknighton/images/dyno1.jpg |
