car doesn't start... sometimes

ok, so some times when i go to start my car, i turn the key, the accessories come on, turn it to start and i hear a *click*, then everything goes dead. no electricity, nothing. i usually just wait, or open and close the door, disconnect the battery, whatever. after a while the car starts. it will sometimes flash power, radio, lights come on, but then cut out again. i am pretty sure this is an alarm issue (i have a clifford something-or-other installed). i was just wondering if this sounded familiar to anyone, and if anyone has any ideas on what i can do to fix it.

this has happend to me too.

the battery may be loose or ur alarm has starter disable.

to get it fix, all i did was tighten the battery cables.

but i dont know if this applies to u.

i had that problem too... i got a new terminal connector at autozone for like 2 bucks and it hasnt been a problem since.... might as well get 2, one for the +, one for the -

if that doesnt work, you're only out 4 or 5 bucks...

Yeah, if you are hearing the click, you aren't getting power, and if it all shuts off thats definately your battery being loose... tighten it...

I'm pretty sure it's the starter. I have a bad starter and i get the clicking almost all the time, sometimes it starts up fine. All my accesories turn on even the radio and the sub and i know it's not my battery. Even my mechanic told me it was my starter. So this may just apply to you as well.

wait, you power cuts off...i just read that. i'll have to agree with the masses. Check your battery terminals or the alarm killswitch. Sorry!
