hey guys need some help, my tranny has been replace about 5 month ago, new one. it was replace because it was making some wierd noise when u go about 40 or 50 mph when you gas it a little. it's like a whistleling noise. it only made the noise in 4 and 5 gear. so acura gave me a new one. but i knew something was still wrong because it still made the noise on and off, but EVERYTIME i would bring it to the dealer the noise would go away. but UNTIL now the whistleling noise is there allll the time. and it makes a funny idle sound like dropping the rpm to 800 to 300 and up to 1300 it keep rising and dropping. Whats is wrong??? sounds like it's running on 3 piston put i dont see any smoke coming out. and the engine vibrate around 1400 rpm. is it the engine or the tranny or both? thanks guys... appointment with acura this week. need help because my acura people don't know much. trust me..

this probably wont help but let me tell you how my R acts...

if i havent started it in like a day or a few hours in the cold.... when i start it, the idle is around 1400 or so and slowly drops as the car is warming up i would assume. At 1400 the whole car kinda vibrates a tad, enough that i can feel it thru the seat. The vibrating goes away as idle drops. My idle will stay around 800 or so once the car has been fully warmed up. If i go ape shit and do a nasty highway vtec run for a long period of time and then hit an offramp and stop at the end of the ramp....the car will be idling at around 1200 or so and then drop down to like 500 after like a few seconds and then come back up to 800 again and stay there. I would assume this is normal behavior, my GSR acts about the same, but im not sure...... if anyone else knows anything else, about either his car or mine, say so,

bump

If the idle is moving up and down all the time it could be a vacuum leak.
