I just started racing too and i have got faster everytime i go. I have gone from a 15.4 to a 14.9 just from improved driving. All i have done to my car is AEM CAI. So expect to get better. It just takes practice.

First time I went with my R I did 15.0 with shitty 3000 rpm launching.
Going back this week end, stock ITR. Might slap on a set of R compound tires to see the difference.

Id like to do 14.6

launch a bit higher (idealy around 5500-6500) for the better times... you'll ideally want to spin through your 60's but not too much further.

My best time was 14.878@95.8 in 40 degree weather @ 1100ft. stock minus an intake. Most of the night i was running 15.0s, 14s came right before I left. I went back a few months ago and couldnt pull better than a 15.1 in 80 degree weather, 75% hum. and bald ass tires. Just goes to show you how well tires and good weather help. My average for that nice was 15.3s  btw my best ever 60ft was a 2.369 ops:
