i'd like some ppl's opinions on lowering a g3 teg
 

hey all,

about 8 months ago i bought a 1994 honda integra (i live in New Zealand and they are marketed under honda here not acura for some reason) and i've recently been trawling review sites and everywhere i can get my hands on to try and find out the best way of lowering this thing. i'm not big big on cosmetic/ricer mods but yeah it does look good and i want to do it right.

i was tossing up between...
a) eibach pro kit springs
and
b) h&r sports springs

i was wondering, as most of the review sites i have been in have had reviews from a number of different car owners, not all driving tegs obviously and i was wanting to know if anyone with an generation 3 integra has tried either of these and would like to help me by saying 'stay away!' from one or the other or just pointing out some characteristics of them. :)

or... if there is another manufacturer whose springs agree with integras... liek jamex perhaps? friends are suggesting jamex but then i do m y research and they get low ratings.. jeez, it's so frigging complicated. tsh. :a:

so yeah, any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

also... i keep readign about integra 'GS'/'LS'/'RS' trims and i'm wanting to know what model i have as again they are different over here - i have a "GSi" - it's a 3dr, and has a 1.8L DOHC (b18b) engine. no vtec, but has air cond, um... that's it really. so another thing i'd like to find out somewhere along the line is what one mine woudl be if i lived in the states. :thinking:

Both kits listed are good kits, Tein also makes good springs. If you want a good coil over kit then I recommend the Skunk 2’s

On what model Integ you have, I would have to say you have an Ls. But if you have leather interior then you got a Gs

GSi is probably the equivalent of an LS... They didn't have the "Special Edition"/GS yet, and judging by the specs... yeah...it's an LS :)

Actually, both those springs are good (I'd go with the one you can get cheapest), and I'd reccomend looking at getting some KYB or Koni's (Adjustable dampening... you will love yourself if you get adjustable shocks) to compliment your lower spring ride height... if you have your original shocks in there and you use lowering springs (1.5" or greater) on them, I guarantee you they will blow out in less than half a year...

I'd look at getting some Tein full coilovers if you can bank one of those setups. For the ease of install and the adjustability they offer, they make a pretty good bargain...

plenty of members here have H&R and Eibach, and i think most are happy with them. i'm definitely happy with my H&Rs. whatever you get, just make sure you mate them up with good shocks. :thumbup:

I'm on H&R sports w/ Koni Yellows on the lowest perch. I can fit a finger b/t the tire and wheel well. Nice and even drop. W/ the eibachs, the front still looks higher than the back b/c of the drop. W/ the H&R, the front drop is more so it looks even w/ the back.

Can't go wrong w/ the Koni Yellows either, I love messing w/ the stiffness.

eibach's are the way to go if u want comfort. the drop isint to low though. 1.8 all around. thats for the eibach sportline. around where i live, nobody every really gets the pro kit, probubly cuz there drag springs. sportline are racing springs. if your car has a sunroof/moonroof, its an LS, if theres no sunroof, its an RS. Hope this helps.
