vafc problem :(

I think the engine is going into safe mode because the car wont rev past around 5000 when the vafc is activated. A shop caleld JoTechs (sp?) in dallas said they kno what the problem is and that they would fix it for $100. I think I have to bypass a MAP sensor or something, ,can someone help me out? This is a 99 GS-R btw. Thx

The only culprit I can think of is bad wiring. $100 is pretty steep, I'd expect JoTech to do it much cheaper, seems like they're getting greedy these days. If you were in So.Cal I would wire it up for a free lunch. Recheck the wiring and make sure you're using the correct diagram.

So I just connect all of the wires and crap and it should work fine? I guess i'll ripp it all off and try again, thx :)

Sure, you can do that. Those connectors they supply with the AFCs are pretty cheesy, go buy yourself some quality ones from any electrical store. If you don't feel like doing it yourself, get another shop opinion and quote.

i have to agree to this
a lot of vafc installs ive seen are cheesy and not very well done by shops, it seems a lot of people have had problems with wires coming loose or not being connected properly. check all yoru connections first and foremost cuz if it worked before and is messing up now that is probably the most probable cause
