Default Where to buy a HO alternator?

I need to bump up my car's(1991 Integra) amperage from the stock 65 amps to 150 amps in order to drive my Alpine MRD-F752 amplifier.

Anyone have any brands and/or links to a high quality, high output alternator company?

Thanks

Tight, finally a good alternator. Random question though, is there a downside to having an alternator that gives too many amps?

as far as I know.... just takes more money out of your pocket (meaning the downside, not that a HO alternator is a bad thing)

I'm thinking about getting one too.

AFAIK HO alternators are harder to turn, ergo less power from your engine going to your wheels.

my understanding as to more power ful alternators is that they have more "windings". I do believe the inner core that actaully turns doens't change... just what it's spinning IN gets more wires.

Even if it did, I can't see it being noticeable amount of power loss.

I've heard from a few sources that have installed aftermarket alts that loss of some power is a sacrifice that you have to make. I believe that the inner core is heavier, which is the lesser equivalent of putting on a 20 lb 17" rim in place of a 15 lb 17" rim. The number of windings on the inside increases, yes, but the inner core is often made stronger so that the number of windings required is minimized, as the more windings you have, the larger the alternator is in size, which makes it harder to fit some cars.

It's probably not a HUGE amount, no.

One other disadvantage of a HO alternator is you may have a huge increase in alternator noise in your system. Be sure to use good RCA, triple shielded, cables. Also, run your power, RCA's, and speaker wires all seperate. Run one down each side and one down the center. This will solve a lot of problems before you even run into them.
