Default Sputter problem at high rpms

Just last night my car started acting wierdly. I have a 1990 Integra LS. I was driven last night with a friend and a Del Sol flew past me so I dropped it and started to catch up to him. When I hit about 5400 rpm my car sputtered and then the car bogged all the way down and died. I coasted off to a side street and tried to start it but it just cranked over. I got out and popped my hood and I checked everything and it was fine. I get back in to start it and it starts right up. I start driving and think maybe I was runnin out of gas but I had just filled it up. So I take of and see if it has the same problem so right around 5500 it does it again. I pull over for a sec and then try to start it and it starts. It drives fine under 5500. Can anybody help with any info on this problem. I am think it is the fuel pump or maybe even bad injectors. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully I can have it fixed by tonight to show that Del Slo Integra pride :driving:

do a full tune up...sounds like it may be something with the fuel system, but maybe your alternator is going?

I dunno, could be tons of different things :happysad:
