ive heard the JDM ecus dont have the immobilizer on them.

I don't think it is the best idea to discuss things like this on an open forum.

Do you guys want theives to get ahold of this information? They probably have access to it anyways, but its never wise to just give out info like that to make one's job even easier.

You make a valid point...but we also may be telling unsuspecting owners where they may have vulnerabilities in the safety of their car that they can be proactive about. I think of it as a Microsoft security hole. Few people know about it until Microsoft comes out with a fix or the next Melissa virus comes along.

I agree with you.

But i think details and technical info of this type (security systems and immobilizer type info) should be shared in a more secure manner... at least email as opposed to a open forum. That is no different than people not posting addresses and VINs on here.

Just a thought... =)

If you want to bypass it still let me know, I figured a way to plug in a bypass and still please the immobby control unit.
