I'm assembling my engine, and I'm ready to put in the new rear main seal. What's the best way to knock the old seal out of the metal ring? Should I install the ring onto the block, and then swap seals?

 

i pried the seal out with a small screwdriver. tore up the seal but what should you care since its being replaced. tap in the new seal to flush. i didn't have the correct tool honda recommends but at flush it seals just fine. install rings last. good luck
