Default Tein Type SS Coilover question?

Just recently purchased a set of the Tein Type SS Coilovers and found out that they sell pillowballs for my car. What i wanted to know was do i need them? Will the car perform better with them or are they for convience or ride comfort or just ease of installation? THanks,
Matt

Pillow mounts definately make your car a little bit more uncomfortable to ride in. Not only that, but they "knock" when you hit a bump. Personally, I cant make my stiff enough so I would re-invest in them if I ever got a chance again.

Ive heard the knock when Ive owned my GAB Revostrokes (sold), my friends ITR, and my friends MR2.

So, its not a fluke after all, hearing the "knock."

If your car sees the street alot more than the track, I wouldn't recommend the pillow-ball mounts. The ride will be much harsher than the stock hubs.
