How To: Bolt A Y8 Manifold Onto Y7 engine.
I know it's a simple process of just bolting on the y8 manifold onto hte y7 engine but i was wondering if anyone has pictures or a guide that explains how to switch over injectors and how the throttle cable converts over....
Sorry if I sound like a newbie..

I don't feel like writing a how too but here are some good tips that will get you going.
It's not as simple as you would imagine. You need to get the throttle plate from a Y8 ( You will understand why when you get around to the install.) but use your Y7 throttle body. Oh...also, if you use a Y7 TB with a Y8 throttle plate you can use your stock throttle cable! The reason is because the Y8 throttle sensor uses a three prong unit and the Y7 uses a two prong unit. So unless you want to do a lot of re-wiring, use your Y7 TB! If your car is a manual tranny, then try to use an intake manifold from a manual tranny Y8, but an auto tranny intake manifold can be used, you'll have to find a way to plug up an extra vacuum port. Purchase and use the intake manifold gasket. Use a new throttle body gasket as well. If you are using your Y7 TB like I suggested, then get the proper TB gasket.
You will need to extend some misc. coolant and vacuum lines so have about 5 feet of 1/2" (outer diameter) hose handy, and plenty of hose clamps.
I would recommend you spray all the bolts down with some sort of penetrating grease a couple hours before starting. I use PB blaster which you can get a pep boys for $4. There is one bolt underneath and in the middle that is a bitch to get too. It's a lot easier if you jack up the car and remove the oil filter then go at it that way - so you may as well change your oil as well.
I hope this helps.
