Ok,
Vitals.
96 Civic Ex. No mods. 92,000 miles

When ever the car sits for some time (ie the morning), it takes a second or two to start. Unlike when it is still warm, it starts right up. Any ideas what I should do? Is this a possiblity of problems?

ps, timing and all other belts replaced at 90,000.
new battery back around 70,000

 

Check/replace spark plugs and the distributor cap and rotor.

 

When you start it in the morning, does the starter spin more slowly than normal? That might be a weak battery. If it spins just as fast as it ever did, then you're battery is OK.

Otherwise I'll go along with plugs/wires, too.

How long is it taking to start?? If its cranking considerably longer oyu may want to do a fuel system presure test to see if fuel is leaking back through the system.

 

I know you just replaced the timing belt. Are you certain that the timing is correctly adjusted???
