purpose of a resonator? do i need it or no?
i was wondering why some ppl remove the resonator from there car? what purpose is this for? what if i take it off? will it make the exhaust run louder or something? isnt this the same affect as removing the catylic convertor and replacing it with a test pipe? or no?
Resonator and catalytic converter are two completely different things. A resonator is basically a mini muffler on the b-pipe. It quiets the exhaust and deepens it. If you take it off, you'll be louder and sound like a bumblebee.

Without resonator exhaust is really, really loud and annoying, buddy of mine had really short resonator on his Apex Dunk, you could hear him coming miles away. Once he put a longer resonator on, it was deep and quieter. Unless you're looking for the loud annoying sound, keep it in.
