how to read CEL?

Default how to read CEL?

i searched, didnt find anything valuable. maybe im retarded, maybe just impatient.

my car wont start, i think it's fuel, i turned my key to the on position the CEL stayed on once for a long time then 10 short flashes... but that means nothing to me.

1994 acura integra LS
new plugs, new fuel filter today

car cranks, wont fire

got the car started so i guess disregard this but id still like to know how to read the cel

As long as you're not talking about the maintenance reqd. light...

There's a two-wire connector stuck up under the dash on the passenger side, where the kick panel goes up to the bottom of the glove box. Short it with a paper clip then watch the CEL blink. Long=10, short=1.

i am talking about the maint. req'd light... when the key is at on position, or right when i start the car, i get one long, 10 short.

Maintenance reminder light is just a reminder that it's been 7000 miles since the last time it was reset. After 7500 miles it stays on solid instead of blinking.

There's a little button under the dashboard, facing towards your right toe. Crawl down by the pedals & look. Press it while the light is on, hold it in for a while till the light goes out. Then do it again every 7000 miles. Don't forget to change your oil, too.

nice im glad thats all it is cuz it came on today and i was like wtf thanks for your help. gonna reset it tonite before i pick my gf up cuz she found me the car and will feel guilty if she thinks its all shitted up
