It doesn't sound like you're getting any fuel up there. When you turn the key to on, can you hear the fuel pump prime and pressurize the fuel rail?

nope i cant hear it... i watched the maint. req light and after one long blink i got 10 short ones... i dont know what that means but maybe somebody here can help?

edit: had my mom turn the key while i listened and i heard it... after like 3 or 4 more tries the car started... so 3 hours and no start then it fired up after a few starts. oh well all i care is that it runs now, if it happens again, ill worry about it then

Each time you try, the fuel pump runs for only a couple seconds. Probably took a few times before the filter and fuel rail actually filled with fuel.

if your tank is dirty inside and your gas cap's vent malfunctions this will cause a car not to start as well. its called vapor lock - to remedy you remove the cap and replace it then start. Just an idea to anyone with similar problems.

maint req'd light is nothing important - just to let you know that according to your odometer you should get the car tuned up (or oil change, so some say). now, the check engine light...that's something to worry about.
