Default Brake pedal hard when first starting car

I've noticed recently that my brake pedal is very hard in the morning when I first start the car. As soon as I start the engine, the brake will soften and I can depress it as normal. I haven't noticed any braking problems associated with it. I don't remember this happening in the past and I'm wondering if its a sign that I have a vacuum leak. Can anyone advise if this is a problem? Thanks.

The brake booster requires suction from your engine to work. If the engine isn't running then the brake pedal will be hard to press. This is completely normal. If they are hard to press after the engine is started then you may have a vacuum leak leading to the booster or in the booster it's self.
