Well I'm still pretty much of a newbie at MT, and I need to know what RPM I should launch my car at to go fastest.

it's a 97 Ls, if that helps any.

 

start at like 2k then work up from there

 

well it really depemds on what kind of take off your looking for.

your could all out smoke out, sklight peel, or the smooth take off. really its your own preference, i prefer the middle, that insures that you have some extra pull on the tires but not to much.

the rpm is not like a universal drop it also depends on how you drop the clutch, if you butter it you could get the same pull out of 3400 that you would of out off 2500 if dropped correctly.

my best addvice is to go in to a parking lot where you wont be bothered and get to know your car.

 

I'm usually able to easlily pull off 4.5k launches with very little wheelspin, sometimes(depending on conditions) even higher rpm launches are possible.

and yeah, practice somewhere where is safe and nobody bothers you. Some people like to rather slowly let out the clutch and let it slip, but I prefer to just dump it.

 

rev it to 5 or 6 grand then slip your clutch, itll kill ur clutch but itll be a good launch. it just depends if you care about your car or not

 

gno veen told me thats wrong and you dont know your stuff but i would agree on about 5 or 6 killin clutch aint no thang but a chicken wing
