Anybody know what the hell an intake air bypass control soleniod valve is?! need help
does anybody know what intake air bypass control soleniod valve is?? anyone have a picture of it?? it is only on the gsr models of 94 and up integras. i believe it is right under the intake but not sure. i did a swap in my gsr and put in a b16a2 because of blown gsr motor. well the plug for that intake soleniod whatever valve is just hanging there. i would also like to know if a b16a2 needs to have one or should i just let that plug hang?? i am not throwing any codes but my car is idling very weird. it revs up to 2,500 rpms goes back down to 1,000 rpms and goes back up to 2,500 rpms, all day everyday. it doesn't do that very fast just does it constantly. does that mean i need that valve? any info would be great. thanks
The intake air bypass system consists of a diaphragm that sits on the right side of your GS-R manifold, and a canister under the manifold. Basically, when there's enough vaccuum, it opens the butterflys up and air goes down the short fat runners. The GS-R's are the only model with it. I've got my connector bagged and tie wrapped to the wire harness, and haven't gotten a code or anything for it yet... although I've yet to go over 4k because of the new rings. With an aftermarket manifold, an aftermarket ecu, or an engine swap, you wouldn't need it.
