i have a 97 civic dx hb. i put a header on it and in 4 or 5 days it throws a code..i think it is because i have no cat. is there some kind of wire or sumthing that will help cure this problem?

Did you wire new O2 sensors in? If you spliced in new O2 sensors you need to solder them or else the resistance will be wrong and throw a code.

You have to have a cat to make the codes go away. Here is why:
The point of two O2s is to test the cat and make sure it is working. The first O2 reads before cat oxygen levels and the second reads after cat oxygen levels. The second reading should be different if the cat is working. I order to make you codes go away have a cat istalled with a O2 bung after it. Install the O2 sensors in the right places as in the original configuration and you will be set to roll with no codes.
