Default thinking of doing LS/Vtec swap or just LS swap

how much will i be expecting to pay for the whole LS engine? does anybody know how much power i can get w/ a LSvtec w/ a b16 head? if its not enough im just going to do LS turbo. thanks

you can get an LS engine pretty cheap... i think they are around 800-1000 depending on how old it is.

LS/VTEC is nice but costs waay too much for its gains. Just go turbo.

also, this is a dyno for a LS/VTEC with a b18b w b16 head.


Civic Type-R pistons, stock rods
B16A head, slight port/polish from Portflow
Type-R intake manifold
Iceman Race intake
Civic Type-R intake cam.
Integra Type-R exhaust cam.
DC Header, full exhaust.

just do the turbo, cheaper. i paid 1200 for my b18b & it had 30k on it. it wasn't used for over a year as well, the parts guy @ mothers did a great job.

hhhmmmm where did you find you engine at? and should i keep the LS tranny or get a gsr or type r

for turbo, LS has longer gearing, therefore its the best for the app.

If you go LSvtec, no turbo, you want something with close gearing. GSR, or even b16/itr with shorter gears.
