Default tinted taillights

i know this has probably been brought up, but i was pondering about tinting my taillights. its for a red 99 civic coupe. i was wondering if anyone here has done it to theirs before and if you had any pics. it's gonna run me about 30 bucks. would you do it?

shouldnt cost that much, just buy two cans of RC car tinting spray at a hobby shop, should come out to about $8, i know this because i bought it to tint my 00 taillights but backed out because i saw some that i didnt like...its up to you man, if you do it just tint the white part, the whole thing would look very :ghey:/rice

clean well, mask the red part, then put on a few coats (or however many you want to get the effect you want...

I personally did it cause i like the whole "Darth Maul" red and black look :naughty:

the tint looks dark or light depending on the lighting conditions... I'll try to find a other pics to show the way it varies...

:edit:
found some, the tint has not changed at all, just the lighting...

older pic...

newer pic...

Cost me $2 from Walmart. Static Cling tint and I've found a new way to keep the stuff on AND still be able to take them off.

it looks great... i did it on my car before the spray tint... just couldn't figure out how to get it to stay on for long... good thing CivicSIRacer did... he has some good pics that I've seen before (the pic of his cars taillights were the main reason for making me try it)... I'm sure he'll post them...

Here's mine:

What I found to use is spray adhesive. If you put it on right away it's permanent, but if you let it dry 3-5 minutes it becomes tacky and is still removeable.

I spray painted mine with Night Shades. I bought one can at my local shop for like 5 bucks. Cleaned the lights really well, taped off the top real good and put on two layers. I think they came out great. Mine are alot darker than CivicDXR's mine look dark even during the day. I dont have any night time shots but im sure since my car is black it would mold right in and you couldnt even tell. Oh and I just passed inspection and been pulled over once with them like this and po po didnt say anything.

Here are some pics:
