Default Having engine trouble, need help

I did a search for this but need more help with my problem, as it seems others have had similar difficulty with their cars. I recently bought a 91 Integra LS with 5spd. A while ago it acted like it wanted to die in 1st gear, where it would sputter and then act fine after a little coaxing. A few days ago, it did the same thing repeatedly and then died completely. The car acts like it wants to start but most of the time doesn't. When I can get it started and I give it gas it usually (but not always) dies. I changed the fuel and air filter already, and pulled the plugs and they seem good. When I turn the key to the "ON" position I can hear the fuel pump whirring for a couple seconds, so I'm not really sure if that's the problem. Can it be the fuel pump relay, or would the pump not even come on if it was messed up? I'm thinking it is something most likely in the fuel system that is messed up, or possibly ignition problems. Anybody know what it can be? Fuel pressure regulator, EGR valve, MAP or TPS sensor, O2 sensor, bad compression in one cylinder, bad coil, clogged fuel line or injector??? Where do I begin? If it is a bad main fuel relay, are there any other Hondas that will interchange with it, possibly a 1st gen Integra? I tried mine from my 4g Accord but it didn't match up. Also, I couldn't get any trouble codes from the ECU, what's the deal with this. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long thread.
