Default RED SRS Light ON! 2000 TL

Has anyone gotten an SRS light lit up on the dash? I had this happen to me a few thousand miles ago and I finally brought it into the dealer. They said it was simply a glitch in the system as a result of a changed battery. That light had been there since before I changed the battery. I had heard some horror stories about others having to swap out the brain for the SRS system. Does anyone have any more info on this?

I've had a problem with that, too. I drive an 01 CL-S in which I've had the SRS brain (don't know the formal designation...) changed out twice. And both times were out of warranty, although (both times) the dealership extended what Acura calls a 'good will warranty'. Essentially, the problem is well known at Acura, and as long as you tell them you don't use you're passenger's side front seat as a storage shelf for anything but another passenger, they'll change it out sans charge. (At least, this is what happened in my case.) A good practice as I have been singing their praises ever since.

there is a bulletin out on this problem:

TSB Number: 02-015
Issue Date: Jul 02
TSB Title: Air Bag System - SRS Lamp ON/DTC's Set

have your dealership look it up and fix it.

Where can I find the case information you
are talking about? Is there a website?
