Default comptech or K&N filter

Ok, heres the deal.

I plan on making the custom ice-box setup for my integra. I have this question and was wondering if one filter is better than the other and why? If anyone could answer me with some experience or expert knowledge on this matter, it would be appreciated. So which should I choose for the stock airbox/icebox. The K&N filter or the comptech filter? Pros/Cons about them? Thanks

I have the comptech (with ice box) its nice but has to be cleaned fairly frequently to keep it at its max. I try to clean it every oil change. But out in the country its farly dirty. In the city it may be different.

Foam filters flow better, but need to be cleaned every so often.

I did this mod and used the K&N direct drop in filter (E2427) - and am very happy with it. The direct drop in filter from K&N is about $65-70, or about the same as the foam filter from Comptech. You can also get a different filter from K&N (RU2820) - this filter requires a little modification (i.e. cutting the end off of the old filter and reusing it). This filter can be found for about $35-$40. So, I guess it kind of depends on how much you want to spend. Again, I used the direct drop in K&N and am very happy with it. Also, the recharge kits from K&N are very easy to find (about $10). I am sure the Compech filter is quality as well. Let us know what you decide to do and how you like it.
