i have a 99 civic hx it just started to smoke when hard accelerating, i also noticed black build up on my bumper. i go through about a quart of oil a week, i do have a slight oil leak, but not that bad. i did a compression check and all the cylinders were about 175 psi, what else could be causing this.

 

Leakdown tests are a better way of seeing if you have bad valve guides etc. that will cause oil to go into the combustion chambers causing the burn.
