Default help a newb on his CD player

My battery went dead and my stock CD player for 97 LS asks for a code.. I checked my owner's manuel for the code but it's not there. I called for the dealer and he said i need to check the serial number on the radio, and in order to do that I gotta take that thing out. Problem is.. I have no idea wth to do, soo.. I need some kind of instruction or manuel on how to take the radio out..

help me out plz.. thanks

Do a search...this has been covered before.

basically there are two bolts on the back of the radio...you need to get in a real uncomfortable position on your passenger floorwell to get them out with a Philips screw driver...it is a pain to do but it is possible. I thought the dealership could just search by your VIN though?

Good article...but you do not need to do all that...just reach up and unscrew the screws on the back of the radio.
