Default Life-expectancy of 9005-9006 conversions...

Typically how long does a 9005-9006 last before the bulb blow out? Should I expect less life expectancy for the 9005-9006 conversion?

it takes a LONG time. that's if you installed the light properly and didn't get oily finger prints on the glass.

If you accidently touch the glass/bulb when you're cutting/fitting the 9005 bulb during the 9005-9006 conversion can you wipe the glass with some window cleaner solution like windex???

Is it OK to put the converted 9005 in the low beam and leave the stock high beam in? Or will it cause some wattage/voltage power problem? Early blow out...etc???

Thanks,

Wear gloves or use a clean rag if your worried about touching the bulb. I have stock high beams and 9005 conversion for my low beams and no problem at all. I hardly use my high beams anyway. I still have the original bulbs that were in my car since '96.

The life expectancy of 9005 conversion is less because wattage draw is more on the 9005 thus decreasing its life. So expect 9005 about 80-90% the life expectancy of a 9006.

would an 80W 9006 bulb match what the 9005 conversion puts out?? Of course I would upgrade the wiring harness.

It depends on what kind of 80w 9006. Some claim the output and some are what the bulb actually draws. Your safer with the 9005 cause the 80w 9006 will have a short life, and will burn hotter possibly melting the inside of your housing.
