Default Gas Gauge

The gas gauge on my Accord randomly doesn't work. Sometimes it works a little bit, like it'll read a half a tank when I have a full tank, or something like that, but usually it just sits near the E. I'm assuming the little floaty thing is just messed up or whatever, somehow, but I don't know how the hell to fix it. Anyone know anything about this? Would this be an easy DIY project, or even a cheap shop project, or is this gonna cost me hundreds of dollars in a shop. If it's gonna be a lot, I won't even bother but if it's easy it'd be nice to have fixed.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you can remove the sending unit from the tank and measure the resistance with a digital meter, slowly sweeping the float you will see the reading change if they jump or take a long time to change then replace the sender. its really not that hard to do.

Yup.. Honda Guy is right!
That is the way how you test it. Safely..

Order to remove the Fuel meter Assy..
very easy. just fold the rear seats to
access the gas tank from trunk.

Haynes manual has the basic instructions how to
change the Fuel meter assy. Page 4-6 (Chapter 4)

I need to replace mine too..
I still have no idea.. my fuel gauge or meter Assy...

Good luck!

How much are these parts, and where can I get them? Dealership I'd assume, right? Also, will I most likely have to replace it, or is it possible that something's just stuck and can be easily fixed? And what tools will I need to do this?
