That is a question that I would like to know also. I just put on coilovers and I have heard a lot of bad stuff about them on stock shocks. In fact most shops will not put on coilovers with stock shocks and warranty the shocks.

At 3.5 down you are probably going to kill yours pretty soon, not to mention your tires.

3.5" inches??? That's really low...There is only 3 inches of separation between fender and tire, so you will be tucked under the fenders for sure. If you decide to want to go that low, you WILL need performance struts and a decent camber kit. You're gonna have to make that thing super stiff if you're going that low. Your stock struts won't be able to handle it at all.

Hey man, I would just reccomend getting enverything together. Because you dont want to do the whole process of putting them on all over again when you get teh shocks.

BTW I like how you post the same stuff on T-I. Double answers

since the shocks wont be as compressed all the time...it would last longer than having it 3"

Hey, I got an idea. How about you do it the right way (i.e. replace the shocks too) so you don't look exactly like the thousands of retards bouncing around with super low springs and blown stock shocks.
Oh, yeah. 3.5" is ****ing gay. Try less than 2".

The amount of lowering isn't the only problem with coilovers and stock shocks. With the spring rates that most sleeve coilovers use, the stock shocks will be woefully inadequate. The whole point of shocks is to keep the motion of the springs under control. If you firm up the springs by a ton but keep the stock shocks, they aren't able to do enough of a job controlling the shocks. Your car will ride like shit, and then your shocks will blow.

Get better shocks, and a 3.5" drop is definitely lame. All that will do is look stupid and eat up your suspension travel.
