is there such a thing as different colored gauge needles?? i want to get the reverse indiglos, but don't think the orange needles will look that great on the red/blue back.

 

you could always paint them. but they are VERY delicate so be careful.

 

There are such things as blue needles that I've seen on ebay, so do a search on there. I think from what I've heard they're not that great and not worth the money/work to install them, but I just remember vaguely a thread about that. Maybe a search here would turn up results.

 

there are those "indiglo needle kits" on eBay, but i suggest that you don't get them. you have to remove your needle, then paint the back of them white. then you have to install a neon filament ring and run power. it's a complete pain in the ass to do, and removing your needles should NEVER be done.

 

Indeed, do not purchase the indiglo needle kits on eBay. What you can do is paint your own needles with florescent paint from a local hobby shop, and if you use a blacklight, the needles will glow, giving you a different color. This project is not for the light hearted. You will have to be very careful and take the original needle color off with some sort of solvent. Then you also have to be careful of the needles sticking because of the paint. You also have to be careful of not painting the needles too heavily, because then they will not read the correct speedo/tach/gas/temp. If none of this makes sense, then I dont suggest you work on your needles.

 

you can paint the needles if you want. but i would HIGHLY suggest not doing it. much more hassle then it's worth. I did blue awhile ago, bought one of the needle light up kits. Didn't work good. Now i have needles that don't light up during nighttime, and the gas and oil needles are getting paint bubbles in them.





i'd say stick with the orange

 

yeah..not worth it...i totally screwed mine up messing with them...now i idle at 0 rpm (or so says my tach) and it waits until 2nd gear before the speedometer starts moving.

 

yeah you have to be carefull taking off your needles , I busted mine trying to take them off.

I do not know what the temp. of my car is now.

 

i didn't take off my needles. I just took some nailpolish remover on a qtip and swabbed the needles until they were clear, then painted them. My gas gauge is a little messed up, when the car is off it sinks all the way down, but goes back to where it's supposed to be slowly when the car turns on. I'm surprised i didnt mess up anything else, but yeah...not worth it

 

they got those indiglo ones out now for accords, but they are pretty expensive. i dont think it will be worth to paint them b/c they are very fagile. if you brake one your fawked.
