Default RS*R exhaust and turbo

I have the RS*R exhaust for the 6th gen civic, off of turbo-imports.com. I'm going turbo soon on the stock D16Y8. What are our opinions on ~8PSI on this exhaust setup (carsound high-flow cat)?

Most N/A exhausts choke down to the stock diameter where they meet up with the cat. Does the RS*R do this? I know my Tanabe RM does, and so do the GReddy exhausts. Anyway, that's a pretty big restriction, so you might want to have that flange cut off, along with the restrictive piece(a couple inches behind the flange) and then have a new flange with a short section of 2.25 or 2.5" piping welded back on, and then mate that to your 2.5" Carsound and downpipe.

Man, if he could just cut off the flange, that'd be sweet.

I'd hate to see you waste your new RS*R, or worse yet, sell it to Mary

You are talking about the triangle shapped flange? With three bolts? It seemed about the same diamater as everything else.

NO MORE CUTTING FLANGES!!!! Hehehe, that kid in NY said my A-pipe shipped, so my exhaust woes will soon be at an end.

Here is a pic of why I had to replace my exhaust in the first place, well I guess I couldn't gotten away with just a new cat, but what fun is that.

Also, they didn't use a donut gasket/spring-set and welded on the cat, causing it to stress fracture (not shown in photo) and when I went to replace it, now I have to replace my fricking A-pipe. NO bueno!

Look inside the RS*R flange. Sometimes the outside diameter will look like it's the same all the way thru, but the flange itself will choke down to the diameter of the stock cat/piping. If not,t hen you should be good to go.

A bit OT here, but Mary's car sounds like it's getting an exhaust leak.

Where did you pickup that RSR?

i have a thermal exaust...i believe it's 2.25 inches. i also have a small greddy turbo kit, intercooled. seems to work okay, but i want to get a custom test pipe for the track, and when i run more than 5lbs boost. i also prolly wanna get a less restrictive exaust at some point too, although it's only a 15g turbo. im prolly running low 14's now, cause i pulled about 1/2 to 1 car length behind a jrsc's gs-r with a test pipe and all that and 6lbs boost. he said he ran a 14.0 on street tires. well, we'll see.

If you're on the a 15g turbo & 2.25", I can only imagine what a T3/T4 w/ 2.25" is going to be like.
