I am lookin at buying a acura integra and i came a cross the "special edition". What is so special about it if I may ask. It is a 1996

The GS was called the Special Edition that year. It has leather, power windows, door locks and a moonroof.

but the engine was the standard 142hp, as opposed to the GS-R's 170hp

yes except that not all GSR's came with Leather. The earlier GSR's had leather as an option. I believe it only became standard in 1999.

...and transmission which means different gear ratios!

You could say it's a GSR with different rims, paint job, leather, and a LS engine and drivetrain.

as people had said above, i agree, but it also has the same suspension as the gs-r.
